Hey Everyone, Got back from my local prop shop today and came home with a new BlackGold Easy Glider sight. Extremely impressed with the quality and features that this sight host. But, I have never shot single pin before and figured I would give it a try. The salesman told me that instead of having to guess where to put the pin, all I would half to do is adjust it and shoot. He described it as "taking out the guesswork on where to put the pin" But how do you go about adjusting the sight when there is a deer right in front of you. It is there a certain method to get your sight adjusted. Also, what are the disadvantages of a sinlge pin sight versus multi pin.
Sounds like a good question for the salesperson. My guess is you can made adjustments when you first see the deer and anticipate where you are going to take the shot and make adjustments then. I would think it would be hard to make adjustments with a deer standing in the clear at 30yards.
I shoot a single pin but it is a pendulum. I personally see no advantage in a slider. The again I cant judge yardage for squat.
IMO, the advantage of the single pin is not having to "think" at the moment of truth. You just put the pin on and go. I have mine set dead on at 23yds....and I'm good from up close, out to 30 with it. That to me is a huge advantage. I have not yet used my slider....though I have addl yardages sighted in. My typical bow shot is 25 and under, but I like having the ability to slide it to 40 or 50 if I ever needed to.....vs. having addl pins on there cluttering my view that 99% of the time I'll never use. For a pure hunting sight, I really like my single pin slider (HHA OL-5019).
