Last year, I missed a huge 10 point on November 8th that chased off 2 smaller 8 pointers and was trailing a doe. I saw more deer activity from Nov. 2nd - 10th than any other time. This was just north of Springfield, Mo. I'm not sure if this activity is classified as rut or pre rut but our rifle season came in on Nov. 16th and I did not see near as much activity between then and Thanksgiving as I did between the 2nd and 10th.

Generally the last couple days of October and first week of November are the best for the place I hunt. I'm in southeast Missouri.
