Question for you. My current rig is as follows Ryzen 5 3600 @ 3.9 ghz MSI B450 tomahawk max RX 5700 Crucial Balistix 2x8 2400 Kingston 240g SSD WD Blue 2 tb 5400 rpm Arctic Esports duo tower cooler All inside a CM Storm Scout 2 case 2 viewsonic 1080p 144hz monitors Recently started getting into video/photo editing and graphic design (just as a hobby for right now) Editing programs are Davinci Resolve for video and Gimp for photo. just curious what those of you with more experience would recommend be the first thing to look at upgrading? I’m already looking at a 2070 super and a Ryzen 7 3800x, but I don’t know what I should look at first. All parts would be bought over time with amazon points.
I only play Xbox I’ll ask my brother what he thinks. He’s big time into computers. You looking for gaming specs as well as photo/editing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes. I just saw yesterday evening that Nvidia officially announced RTX 3000 dropping soon, so I might try for that.
Ok, well.... Few questions. You have 2 hard drives listed. Are you going to run OS on 1 and storage on the other? If so that's fine but stay away from hdd completely. Store in the cloud. What video card are you going with. That is the most expensive and important peice for what you are doing.
SSD is my boot drive, yes. I don’t necessarily mind cloud storage, but I don’t 100% trust it. I want to go all solid state for storage, but that’s not cost effective as of yet. The system I originally posted is already built and running. I just had no inclination toward serious video production when I put it together.
Ok cool. What's your onboard act like under processing? Newegg and tigerdirect always have great deals on video cards.
I have a discreet graphics card (powercolor rx 5700) but it’s not a fan of rendering. Gaming it’s great with, the video stuff it’s not enjoying.
I can’t wait for these NDA’s to be lifted on the tech reviewers for the new 3000 series cards. The launch came just at the right time, but no one is allowed to release numbers yet.
