Just kill before noon and be done with it. If not bring a portable cell phone charger and keep your head on a swivel

The key to an all day sit for myself is having extremely high confidence I'm in a great location and deer are on the move. I don't head out in the morning thinking today I'm doing an all day sit, I head out prepared to do one but the spot better be hot in the morning with a lot more of the same expected for the evening. Anticipation keeps me in a tree, not stubbornness or will power.

I do get down every once in a while... of course lock-ons make this easier and quieter. I don't go anywhere... I just climb down and stretch a few minutes, then get back up. I have killed deer within minutes of climbing back up. Sometimes I think the slight noise attracts them. At either rate the idea of taking leave from my job to sit in camp seems dumb to me.

 you're only going to get maybe 10 hours in the stand at most, you guys are talking like he's going on a 3 day hiking trip. Maybe take a bottle of water and an apple if you can't go without food. Done. This is like going to work and skipping lunch, no big deal. Phones, chargers, books, sheesh, just sit and enjoy your surroundings.

I adjust the safety harness/strap when sitting so if I lean over a little it supports me....just in case I snooze a bit I'll stay in the stand. I now take a small book of soduko puzzles for something to do when I start to feel drowsy (florida, sunshine, 85-90 degrees,,,,). A few minutes of puzzles gets the mind alert again. I try to keep movement small and not flash the white pages of the book. Also very effective for spring turkey hunting in the ground blind....worked twice this spring where after 5 hours I smoked a nice bearded bird. other than that, camera, water, apples, food bars, sandwich, thermocell, and a sense of humor...

Confidence in your spot. Water. Food to cover the day. Warmth.

I've got a hand-held Yahtzee game that I always carry in my pack. Don't get to engrossed in it though.

A heater body suit. Stay warm and comfy. I think the confidence in your location is a great tip. Easy to sit all day if you know something's coming.
