I am using the Sony DCR-45. Its a 30gb hard drive cam with a 40x optical zoom. VERY VERY light and only around $300. Its not TV quality by any means, but it will do its job for me and Isaac this bow season, just like it did for turkeys :D

make sure that you get a guy just as passionate as you in the tree though, otherwise, he could get bored/miss certain things/not care...the list goes on

my brother is passionate about being outdoors, he just doesn't hunt... he's a fisherman by nature... he enjoys hunting, but mostly from an observational point of view... personally, I think if he did some filming he'd kinda start getting into it a little...

I don't know much about filming deer hunt, but if you're doing spring turkey hunts - be sure to have a Great American Hero manning the turkey calls.

A real pro. Not some wannabee first-day-of-turkeyschool loserhead schmuck.

I'm with TEmbry and Siman on this one. If I feel up for it I'll do it, but it is very difficult to pull off (at least for me) and can take some enjoyment out of the hunt. I've been filming for about 2 years now on a serious basis and I've come to the point that if it is getting to be work, I don't want to do it. I hunt and film because I enjoy it. Doing it all yourself it a lot of work. If you are up for it, it can be fun, but it depends on how you want to go about it.
