just got 80 acreas to hunt this year only 2 weeks before the seasoned opened. Its got swamp its got oak ridges its got a creek that runs through it and a cornfield in the front. Its got everything a deer wants and needs and for some reason weve only seen 9 deer all year and we killed 1 doe. Ill be honest im not looking for no buck. Im a meat hunter if a buck walks by ill smoke em but after shooting that doe we havent seen anything we have 3 sets out there all are on the side of an oak ridges covering the edges of the swamp and big runs coming into the ridge. We literally havent seen a deer in over a week. Them runs are smoked with tracks everyday. We just havent found whats making those tracks?? I dont know what to do where to sit. I havent ever hunted a place that looked as good as this i need help i dont know why i aint seeing anything just needs tips and help?

I am going to keep my eye on this thread haha. I have a similar problem, I hunt 140 acres and i would say a good 100 of it was corn this year (which has been cut now). I get great activity and had GOOD hunts this year on one end (haven't killed anything yet because i am waiting on 1 of my 3 shooters), then on the other end i MIGHT catch 2 to 5 doe after leaving my camera for a week on a good food site and run, then in the middle on the backside of a hill with a big field of corn and a natural spring i had 2 does visit my camera (which i set on a heavily traveled run), the backside of that hill was our killing tree for years but the past 5 years it has gone cold.. i don't get it, i have a hard time believing that herds of deer are only using that one small end of my farm... i just have had a hard time getting on deer anywhere other then my NEW killing tree. I am just going to have to get REALLY creative i think... I attached some pics of my shooters just for fun, i am sure some of yall have seen them on my other post.. I have moved my camera back over to the hot spot so maybe i will have some new pics in a week or so, I cant wait to run more than 1 camera, would make covering 140 acres ALOT easier haha

Depending on how steep some of those ridges are wind can start to swirl around. So even if you feel you have a perfect wind, it might not be..

Sounds like you might be putting a lot of hunting pressure on that piece. They may just be coming through now after dark. Run some trail cameras if possible.
