I would like to go ahead and apologise if I'm posting in the wrong place, still learning to navigate the forum/app. This year will be my first ever turkey hunting, I'm going to attempt archery. Last year was my first year bow hunting whitetails and thanks to my awesome brother in law I had a successful season and now don't want to out the bow down. Any tips for a beginner trying to take his first turkey ever with a bow? Thanks in advance admin if this isn't posted in the correct place please move. Thank you all have a great day GOD BLESS!! elite shooter
IMHO Best chance is going to be to roost the birds as close as possible and set up a blind the night before. Get there early the morning of. Bring every call you have and try each until they act interested. Know your birds vitals!
Seems like good advice. Check out the Public Land YouTube series, they are currently driving around the country hunting turkeys on (you guessed it) public land. They're doing a lot of roost/hunt and having decent success. Plus they're entertaining without being clowns. Seem like down to earth dudes.
I like those guys, they have the series on Amazon video. One of the best hunting shows out there in my opinion, no nonsense and they don't act up to the camera.
Agree 100%. I've never heard why they split from Chasing November/Midwest Whitetail but I'm glad they did. I can still watch MW but since I'll probably never get to hunt 200 acres of Iowa goldmine; the Public Land guys are definitely more relateable. The PL guys are neck and neck with BHOD in terms of "real deal" hunting shows.
Anyone know the name of the YouTube channel? When I searched public land bowhunting a bunch of stuff showed up elite shooter
