I am new to deer hunting, and I went online and purchased an book called "Deer Hunting for the Clueless" by Richard May and now after only a year I have tagged out. Great book, and great tips and tactics that really do work.
That's good, read and learn as much as possible, hunting is a progression and you will learn new things every day in the field. What may work for you won't always work for others and vise versa, everyone has there own techniques or style of hunting develop yours and tweak it along the way with the new knowledge you gather and you will be fine.
I like that your willing to learn! Now when season ends this year, puts some miles on the ole boots and locate bedding areas, old rub lines that looked like they've been used for years, pinch points, water sources, and all the other good stuff and you'll become MUCH more successful and a lot faster! Best of luck
