I have a new lease in which I have been planning on hunting hard this year.. But after seeing all the activity beside my house... I figured I better hang out there... which will allow my lease to have less pressure. I've been hunting a beautiful setting that just "feels" right... But all the activity was behind.. they would cross through the field, but for the most part... they stayed in the thick stuff behind me... Yesterday was the last draw... I moved my stand this morning and was hunting in it before 5... The deer get up and exactly 7pm for the last few days, and Like clock work 7pm I hear movement in front of me and behind.. This place is thick... I can't see anything past 20yds... I'm only about 12-14ft off the ground... First deer I spot was a spike that started rubbing a tree right in front of me... but the foot steps behind me were much more deliberate... I was hoping it was the 100" 8 that I had seen a couple of days ago... but it wasn't... but when he stepped under my stand, I immediately knew that he would make me happy after going without any antlers last year... So I drew and shot, 11 yards, quartered away the shot felt perfect but the blood trail said other wise... think my entrance was a little to far forward for the angle I had on him. But after some dinner, the wife and I headed out 1.5hrs after the shot took place... and drop by drop, we found him in weeds taller than us... Gonna get a nice euro done with it... Oh... notice my attire... just a small taste of what you get when your a Champion... Just sayin'... Entrance Exit
Yeah, Blood brother .... you set off what will be an avalanche of points over the next 2 weeks .... it's getting ugly the the competition ... I smell their fear ....
Aaron congrats again buddy I was pumped when you sent the picture of him once you found him. It was good talking with ya while you were in the stand man. Way to get us and the board and get us started.
