I may have to have some work done on my aftermarket knee this fall and I'd like to try to schedule it to leave me able to hunt the rut. I have access to a small piece of woods in DuPage and am thinking that mid and late November would the best bet for buck movement. Being a 70 year old rookie, I thought I try for input from more experienced minds.

i just watched charley alsheimer on tv and he said the northern us rut would be the first week of november based on the full moon timing this year

it always seems the rut i see in upstate ny is after his predicted dates

I hunt northern il. The dates to hunt it hard are nov.1-7. The 8 deer on the wall wouldn't disagree.
