Saturday I went to the lease to plant a food plot and take care of a few other chores. While there I folded up that pop-up camper, the "$250 rolling deer camp". I had to make room out there for the new $500 rolling deer camp, the travel trailer I just picked up. I decided to list the pop-up on Craigslist and see if I could make a little profit. The canvas on this camper is in bad shape. Go inside without tarps on the outside and you will see daylight. But, the rest of the thing is pretty solid and with tarps on the outside it will keep you warm and dry. I listed it for $550. I figured I'd take $350 and hope to make $100 to help finance my turkey hunting this spring. Well this is where the timing part comes in. In 2 1/2 weeks NASCAR will be racing in Ft Worth. I have never had any use for NASCAR before. Today I'm pretty happy with NASCAR fans. Just a few minutes after my listing posted on Craigslist my phone started ringing and the e-mails started piling up. Seems as if a lot of fans were looking for a camper for race weekend! The first couple to show up at my house paid the full $550. So I more than doubled my money and thats after I took out the microwave and the jacks to use with my travel trailer and I got a full seasons use out of it at my hunt club. For just a tiny bit I felt guilty. I got over that in a hurry though.
I know what you mean about the timing. I sold a ladies bow on ebay the other day. Really thought I would have alot of trouble getting bids. By the first evening it was posted, somebody chose the buy it now option I put on it and just like that it was sold. I guess some guy bought it for his wife for a wedding present, I got lucky and sound like you did to.
