Here is my take and why I don't use a touchscreen. Work pays for my Blackberry so I can have anything I want. Touchscreen phones are no fun to use when it is cold and you have gloves on while in your treestand. I can use the trigger from my hunting release to press the buttons on my Curve though and not have to take of the gloves. The buttons are also easier to press on the Curve versus touchscreen phones. The Curve is great, but as I have stated the Niagra will be the one to go with when it drops. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BlackBerry_Niagara http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/24/blackberry-niagara-9630-reviewed-in-all-its-prerelease-glory/
I'm not sure I can wait another 2 months for the BlackBerry Niagara. I am at wits end with this hunk of junk I use right now.
I recently got the BlackBerry Storm 9530 through Verizon and so far I like it alot. However, we (BowTech) just bought an iPhone to carry on our Interactive Archery Experience trailer and if it wasn't for having to change to AT&T I'd probably have one. I wonder how long Apple will give exclusive rights to AT&T... I would guess Apple will offer the iPhone to more providers so they can grow their own business instead of only helping AT&T grow theirs...
I love my iPhone. The new software OS that is coming this summer (free upgrade) looks great too, can't wait!!
Apple wouldn't have donated anything for AT&T....AT&T probably paid through the nose for those exclusive rights....I guess it comes down to how long they paid for it.
LOL...When I said "give" I sure as heck didn't mean donate...I'm guessing sooner or later AT&T won't be able to afford exclusive rights and when that time comes Apple will be making money hand over fist...
My mom has a Curve. I've messed around with it a little bit, and it's pretty sweet. I'm getting a new phone this weekend, and as of right now I can't decide whether to go with the Curve or a BlackJack.
Well I picked up the Curve this evening. In fact I am typing this on my phone while my wife is in the store
You are correct sir. I totally forgot about the "Alltel divested markets". I have not had a chance to look at a recent coverage map to see who is who up North. As you were.
VZW was offered the iPhone first but negotiations broke down quick as Apple would not allow servicing at VZW locations, wouldn't do a removable battery and wanted an absurd royalty monthly for the device. They also expected VZW to subsidize too much to bring it to market. AT@T of course bit, at the time they were losing traction to VZW and needed a pick me up. AT&T is subsidizing around 400 bucks per iPhone 3g while also needing to invest 17 billion over the next year to implement more 3g upgrades and network enhancements to deliver reliable user experiences for iPhone 3G users. AT&T has been plagued with numerous outages in their network since the launch of the 3G iPhone due to oversubscribing of the 3G network.
