I'm brand new to archery. I picked up my first bow literally 2 months (which is also as long as I've been in the sport). I got a PSE Brute X w/ their stock strings on it. I've shot it only about 8 times at the local range, though I've put in a good few hours each time. I've been advised by someone locally that I should already restring my bow. It was described to me as 'string on string' & that I'm risking using the string much longer, & that I'd definitely want to restring it if I'm thinking I hunting w/ it anytime soon, & that it is not uncommon w/ stock bow from the manufacturer. Here are the pics of the string at the lower end of my bow:

Is the person right? Should I restring it sooner than later? If so, what's a reasonable price for a good stringjob?

Those are not even wore in good. The serving being separated some is normal. I have put as many as 8500 shots through a string and they were fine. if you just want to replace them and keep them as back up, do it but don't replace them because you think they are worn out.

Strings look fine to me. If you are worried about the serving seperating take it to a pro shop and have the strings reserved.

Completely normal. The serving on mine was like that except worse when I first got it but I just slid them all back down and put wax on them and they've stayed in place. Not sure if it's the right thing to do but it's worked.

Like others have said, that's just the serving separating a little bit as the actual bowstring wears in. The actual bowstring is the twisted red/white string. The serving just protects the string at critical points such as the cams and nock point.
