time for new bowfishing gear

    hey guys, my bohning bowfishing tip is worn out
    anything i should look at? im leaning towards the cajun whaler tip
    i shoot a muzzy carbon arrow,if that helps

    For most 'regular' bowfishing, you probably don't want the whaler. That's a tip that designed to hold really well... but it's very slow to remove the fish (you have to unscrew the tip completely) and if you are shooting into roots or heavy weeds you'll wear yourself out pulling the arrow back. Eventually the barbs will bend and need to be replaced.

    I use the whalers on big soft fish, like buffalo or grass carp or if I really don't want to lose a bighead carp.

    Otherwise I'm usually using regular muzzy fishpoints or cajun piranhas.

    i shoot into lots of seaweed, and mostly at common carp, and 1 buff. so far
    i already bought a complete muzzy arrow/tip so im good for spring!
