This is the best deal that I know of, 135 bucks for a Covert Red 40 and 140 bucks for a 2012 Black 60.

    DLC Covert

Take it from me, I love browning guns, apparel, everything. One thing I would never spend money on is a cam with their logo. Save yourself the time an get a covert!

I think people feel like us Covert guys are pushing Covert cameras just for the hell of it. Just look at the quality of pics and videos. They sell themselves! You can't beat them for the money. I bought my first Covert cameras last year and I was hooked then. I put 8 batteries in my MP6 in April 2012 and I did not change them until November 2012. I still had one bar left on the Battery Life Meter. Over 25,000 pics at 6 MP!

I have 10 years experience. Covert is by far the best in every category.

No bashing intended, but I also shop by using the review sites. The Browning, for instance, scored very high. I have read the tests and such. a 3.9 score is quite high, and by battery drain tests, it does offer long battery life. It is a balancing act.

As for Covert cams, who is the #1 guy there?

Have a moultrie m80 mini cam. Last year I had it out April to December. One set of batteries through that entire time plus had 20% left. This was with a couple weeks in the summer with 5000+ card pulls.

We just ordered 20 Coverts. 10 Red 40s and 10 Black 60's. The red 40's I got last year are still running on the same batteries since Late October. 20,000+ pics and temps well below zero.

If I bought a different brand of camera, I'd kick my own ***.

X2...speaking as a Homebrew guy who laothes most commercial cams, I will own a Covert this summer.

To the OP, I know you're skeptical of Coverts, but I've been following this brand for a few years, and the overwhelming reviews are all consistent...that says a lot.

I am actually not skeptical about Covert cameras as far as quality, operation, etc. I am not loyal to ay brand, either. I do put stock in the reviews and measurements; after all I have been an electronic design engineer a long time and though I am inactive in the field currently, I do keep up with technology. Again, not bashing, but I see the Ranger Ops and Red 40/MP6 as being in a similar class... the Ranger Ops did beat both significantly.

Give it a shot. Be sure to post your experiences. Always good to see all of the options.

You need to buy a Covert AND a Ranger Ops and put them on the same tree.

Dear Lord...batteries still kicking since last October after 20k+ pictures? My 2 old hunks of junk I got on major discount, takes C batteries that only lasts 4-5 weeks, and the picture quality is a joke. Sounds like I need a Covert...
