I think it’s about time I retire the tru-ball release that I have been using since 2005. I would like to try a hook style this time instead of caliper. Any advise on a new one would be a huge help.

I just got the new Trufire Hardcore it's pricey but worth it IMO, hook style as well.

Scott Silverhorn. Fantastic release for a reasonable price. I just got a new one and love it.

X2 It is a very smooth release and now they come with a springback feature for the hook! I need to get a new one!

I've got a new one with the springback hook and honestly, I wouldn't spend the money on an upgrade unless you just want to have a backup (which isn't a bad idea). But if you already have a backup of some sort I'd pass and spend the cash on something else. Its a nice feature, but not that nice.

I've got 2 Scott silverhorns as well and wouldn't dream of shooting another release. They fit and function perfectly for me, one obviously just a back up.

    I've got a Tru-Ball Short-n-Sweet. Really like it.

Actually at the moment I shoot a TruBall Copperhead. Its a nice release but nowhere near as crisp as my old Silverhorn. I would still be shooting the Silverhorn but the Girlfriend has claimed it and I dont see me getting it back anytime soon!

Thats another plus with the silverhorn with NCS connection it can be adjusted to fit anybody just right, I dont think you can go wrong with this one!
