    Hi all:

My son has a Diamond Razor's Edge. Bought it for him when he was 5' nothing he is now 6'2". He was shooting dots nowhere is he lucky to hit the field tip bag. He it also hitting his bow arm with the string! It has gone to the shop at least twice. Is the bow too small for him at 6'2"?

Is it time for a new bow?

What is his draw length and weight? What does his present bow go up to?

I know Diamond makes a few good full size bows for reasonable prices, it all depends on how much you want to spend. I'm PSE guy myself but if I were ever to switch I'd go Bowtech but Diamond is made by Bowtech so it's in the same family.

Depending on his arm lengths he could very possibly fit into a 29. Or he may have monkey arms and be 32. Get his dl measured and of its around 29 it's a definite form issue.

I know I had the same issue with my oldest son, and I don't have a son who will ever even get close to 6'2". They grow so fast, that the peep sights are constantly out of alignment. Over the winter he took a couple months off from shooting, by the time he picked up the bow again, the peep sight looked ridiculous.

that being said, the razor, although it has some nice adjustments as they get bigger, is still a youth bow. I sent you a PM.

If it goes to 31" DL he would have to have some serious monkey arms for it not to fit him. I'm 6'5" & have long arms & shoot a 31.5" DL.

I think it's time to bite the bullet and get him a big boy bow.

My son had the same setup. He is 6-1 now, and his dl is 29". I got him a PSE Vision and he loves it. He started shooting much better with the newer bow, but it is 33" axle to axle, as opposed to 31.

    Thanks All:

I think the key is that it is 31" axle to axle and when cranked all the way up is it a beast to shoot. He shoots my Tribute like he is Robin Hood.

I am thinking of passing down my Tribute to him and getting a 60# Bowtech Carbon Knight or Overdrive. I am also pondering a Diamond Carbon Cure. The reason he is getting the Tribute is that He loves it and it is too fine of a bow to let out of the family. He also will be drawing 70+ way before me. I am too old and have too much arthritis for that.
