He looked pretty damn sharp the last two days, I would dare to say he is a little golf out there. I know Dave is pumped
He'll melt. He showed signs of it with that double boggie. However.... not many big names pushing him or for him to overcome. The one that surprised me was Phil. Yesterday he couldn't hit a green, a fairway or the Northern Hemisphere. LOL And then he quit.
As Ricky Ricardo would say, "I deed told you so". LOL Tiger is in the mist of a melt down. Going backwards. Missing putts he shouldn't. Sorry Tiger... not this week.
His swing does look a lot different than a couple weeks ago. He's actually hitting the ball really good. He just can't putt. It is ironic though, the closer the back nine on sunday gets, the more mistakes and spray shots you start seeing. He's had to lay up on 7 of his last 8 par 5's because of tee shots that didn't let him go. That's where he does (used to) do his damage. And that par 3 12th hole has his number. I think he fades away to top 20ish. Could be wrong but if recent history and his trend stays the same, that' whats going to happen today.
Weellllllllllllllllllllllllllllll... it's up in the air at this point. Everyone is struggling. Right now there are 3or 4 guys that could win this thing.
Tiger just pulled off one hell of a shot on 16 to tie the lead. I mean, it was good. He looked to be in a position to drop a shot... instead, he made one fantastic birdie. Now he just stiffed one at 18. He's got the lead and everyone is melting. Now he's 2 up in the clubhouse and going to win. Well how about that. Before you all go Tiger crazy.... none of the big boys were around to give chase.
mmmmmkkk ... guess I was wrong lol. Birdie 3 of last 4? That looked like somebody we used to know. By the way that chip in at 16 might be the best shot I've ever seen him hit on tour.
Golf needs him contending, he's a ratings machine. We love to watch people fall and rise is this country.
I guess....but I'd rather see a Bubba Watson catch fire or one of those young punks go on a run. I personally have a hard time rooting for someone who's a proven dirtbag. I don't have a problem with him succeeding again, but I find it hard to watch and listen to people talk and root for him like nothing happened or like he's the one that had something happen to him.
Not going disagree with you on that point, was just answering your question. To me it's about money, I thought he was pretty much done also. The guy can play golf, terrible husband, but great golfer. How many guys can win with three swings?
Absolutely Germ. I can totally be entertained by his ability, I'm just not gonna pull for the guy or get excited when he might be "back."
Being a goo husband and a good golfer are completely different. He's the worst at one, best ever at the other. I hope he comes back and dominates as he did in the early 2000s.
Because he is the best we've ever seen. He raised the bar on golf and the young guns have responded. He really took golf to a new level. His play made them change courses to "Tiger Proof" them. The greatest should not go out with a wife swinging a 3 iron in the middle of the night. He deserves to fade away in later years..... not implode in a flash.
Yep, what others have said. When he contends he's good for the sport. I don't really link Tiger the golfer to Tiger the husband. Two totally different things. In the sport of golf he is simply the best we've ever seen in history. I guess that's just something you don't want to end. Leaves you wanting to see more. I do agree that there is a lot of young talent out there (Wastson, Fowler, Kuchar, Dufner, Dustin Johnson, Simpson, Mahan, Watney, Hass, etc, etc.....). But there is only one Tiger. And those boys aren't where they are without Tiger for the game of golf. He changed the game that much. I wasnt' buying into the whole swing change thing this time around. I know the last 2 took some time to take from range to golf course, but this seemed hopeless. He looked COMPLETELY different this week. Not only physically in his swing, but his mental game was different too. You could just tell he was more focussed and different hop to his step. Managed the course well for the most part. The biggest thing I saw in his mental game was the bogey on 10. I was saying to myself ohhhhh crap look out gallery, club may fly. He didn't do his little pity party temper tantrum that he's been known to do. He tipped his hat, put his head forward and walked to the next tee with a business like attitude. Almost like he knew it didnt' matter he was going to win this thing. That's the kind of stuff you saw in the old tiger.
