if he's hurt he's hurt. i gotta take that man's word for it... hate to see him go down like this though but i guess when your life falls apart thats what can happen to a guy
and mental "hurt" is the worst kind for a golfer... would like to have seen him break all the records but now doesnt look good.... and if he wanted to run around like that should have never gotten married. my biggest question when Tiger discussion comes up, and always will.... what if Elin woulda never said/done anyting or never found out??? would he still be the top golfer on the tour???
He's toast. One, he's not playing enough to be worth a darn. 2... he always has an excuse these days. 3... why do they keep talking Tiger Tiger Tiger when there are about 100 players playing better than he is. He's gone totally mental. He's a has been. Hasn't sniffed victory in a couple years. I don't think he could compete on the Nike tour. Perhaps he should start making porn flicks.
Tiger Woods 10 yrs ago would have lit up the back nine and put in a good number for the second round and climbed back into contention. He is mentally a train wreck. I like watching a tournament when he is in the hunt, adds a level of excitement that no other PGA player can bring.Hopefully he can right the ship and be a competitive golfer again.
i think thats it... excitment, thats why everyone is talking Tiger all of the time. folks want to believe in him, that he can be what he used to be. his rounds back when, folks used to tune in just to see what he was going to do next not sure if it'll ever happen again. i hope so!
I agree, and that was the begining of the downfall. He lost his mental edge. There are thousands of great ball strikers and golfers. Tiger separated himself from the rest with his "it" factor. He was the most mentally tough golfer I've ever seen on planet Earth. He could will himself to do things and hit shots that a human being shouldn't be able to do. Unbelievable really. The best at his respective sport at that than any other athlete in any other sport...... ever. Yes. No doubt in my mind. If his lifestyle continued unaltered he'd be still on top of the world. His invincibilty and confidence took a severe hit by being exposed. Directly translates to the links. No more swagger of being the man anymore.
I agree and have been saying it since the day he crashed his car. That was IT imo. His life and career were done. Just continues to surface every week. I don't know if you guys caught the Bubba Watson/Tiger thing this week. Bubba made a statement in reference that Tiger was going the wrong way. It was news for some reason and Tiger took offense to it. When asked about it he said something like " that was intereting" and "we'll talk" with the intimidating look on his face. For some reason it just didnt' have the same feel to it. His comment about it really had no substance because he has nothing to back it up with. On the flipside I remember when he first came on tour and did an interview with Curtis Strange. He asked him his expectations this year. Tiger said to win. I plan on winning every golf tournament I enter. Strange laughed and thought he was crazy. He had that same look and attitude about him, but it meant something then. Now ... it doesnt' mean anything. He's not making anyone scared or intimidating anyone. Really too bad. I like to see greatness. And like I said I think he's the best at his respective sport (was) than any other athlete in theirs.
Why would he re-invent his swing when he was dominating the world. I know he has done it in the past, but it seems that you would not mess with it when you are winning majors by 10 strokes...
I thought about this even more, Tiger changing his swing would be akin to Ted Williams changing his baseball swing. If it is working better than anything ever witnessed WHY mess with it. Golf guys please help me understand. I understand the edge he was living on and all that, but he had already started tinkering before he hit that tree...WHY change the swing?
Bubba Watson, winner of 5 PGA Tour events is trying to tell Tiger Woods, winner of 71 PGA Tour events to stop being mental and just play golf. What a tool, that'd be like some celebrity hunter giving Chuck Adams some bowhunting tips. Here's a quick reminder...the 2011 Masters Tiger ties for fourth.....Bubba Watson shoots a 78 on Sunday to finish at +1 tied for 38th. That my friends is funny. Tiger hurt his leg today, you remember the same one he had surgically repaired twice in 2008 and the one he injured in the above mentioned tournament where even in his "shadow of his former self" condition was able destroy the score Bubba Watson posted. I get it, his fall from grace is one of legendary proportion and the "piling on" from anyone and everyone was and is to be expected, you know what they say "haters gonna hate". But he will certainly win again and I'd go as far as to say he'll win another major or two and while I doubt there will be much flip-flopping on this site I'm sure I will get my fill of that from every possible media outlet in the world. I can't wait....
i think he is trying to change his swing so that he can "last" not sure he can swing like he was swinging his entire life. we get old and bodies break down, i could be wrong but i thought i heard that was the reason. NEW, i wouldnt worry too much about folks coming down on you. you posted how you feel, you have a right to that my man! guess my only advise to Tiger would be to get back in the sack (just kidding) but really if thats what gave him that "edge/it" then maybe he needs to go back to that lifestyle. i just would make sure he's not married this time.
Tom Watson is one of the few I seen break this mold, he still looks the same. I think we may see more of this with these "power" golfers we have now.
