It's official. Jan 5-11 I will be in Arizona chasin around mulies and coues deer with the Hoyt. We used rapid rewards points to get two tickets for a whopping $10 each. Split a rental car, I buy my tags, and I have a VERY cheap chance at a mule deer. I can't wait! Dad wants to go along just to experience it (as I already had plans to head out solo), but he is actually going to prove to be a HUGE asset to me as a spotter, not to mention having your father along for such a hunt.

Heading to Indiana to finish hanging/prepping stand sites and check cams Saturday. Season opens (for me) the following weekend up there.

Other than that I am just waiting for an evening void of rain with the right wind to head back out to my "hot" spot which is now likely colder than ice with the amount of acorns falling. I'll likely just go hunt the set to be able and jerk down the stands to be honest.

Anyone else making it out much?

That is great! Good luck and enjoy the time with your dad! My dad was only a fisherman! I was the only one in the family who picked up bowhunting! Now trying to pass it down to my kids!

I know right where I WISH I could be...unfortunately, that lies 4-500 yards pass the barbed wire property line.:( My days of a chance at success here (until rut) are slim to none by this point. Focus is shifting above state lines for now unless something changes here locally.

    Trev,

Remember I have good friends down there. Just say yeah and I'll drop a dime. Are you still hunting south of Tucson? Break a leg!

Lucky dog! Good luck on that hunt, if it's anything like your Alaska trip you'll get both species. I wish I could get my old man to go on a trip like that with me. Enjoy it!

What part of AZ are you going to be hunting? I was hunting for coues back in 07 near the Tumacacori Peaks. It was beautiful country except that every single plant you come in contact in tries to stick you with something. Those Coues are small and hard to spot, you will be surprised how well they blend in without large timber.
