I found a tick on my stomach last night. Figured they would be gone by now. Ive never seen this type of bite before and will be getting it looked at. The tick was dead when I found it and the bite is kind of painful. What do you guys think this is?

I think you need to start treating your cloths and gear with Permethrin.

When I get tick bites they look like that. Go see a DR they will drain it if necessary and give you the meds for Lyme's

My wife found a tick on her yesterday morning as well. I had to pull it out. She had a lot of pain before she noticed it. I did not get the whole head out at first. I wanted to take her to get looked at but she would not let me. Her bite looked just like yours.

I got a tick for the first time in over 30 years in the outdoors this summer. I got lucky and had no issues after. It's always best to get it checked out though.

Last week I found three in two days on our two dogs. I figured the nights were too cold but guess not. They get treated with flea/ticket medicine from the vet and still got them.

Always go to the doctor if you find a tick bite. Lyme disease is too much of a risk not to go.

That sux dan I would definitely get that checked out. It looks like you squeezed the tick to hard pushing the ticks last meal in your skin and gave yourself a infection.

Back in IL, I'd get a couple of tick bites a year. Two formed big, itchy welts. One on my back was itchy and would weep for about six months. It finally settled down and is just a bit of scar.... but if I get bit by another tick I can tell because it gets inflamed and itchy again. Last October I got bit by a tick on my arm. It has formed a hardened granuloma that itches like a mother.... Sometimes I'll wake up scratching it and it will bleed. If I didn't hate going to the doctor so much, I'd go in and have it excised.

Anyhow, you're safest bet is to go in and get it looked at. (don't be a hardhead like me) They'd likely give you a rx of doxycycline. Take some probiotic pills afterwards.

Have they been able to properly diagnose Lyme disease now? I know there for a while it would go misdiagnosed. Good luck with everything, Lyme disease is one of the few things that scares me.

I can't stand ticks or mosquitos. I cannot find their significance in the Eco system.

Permanone has been my best defense, they are nasty thick in the spring during mushroom season. Spray it on your clothing enough time ahead for it to dry. Lasts several weeks and washings
