Hey everyone I planted 1 acre of eagle soybeans this year. Needless to say the deer have just wrecked the plot. Beans can't grow fast enough even though they are a forage bean. They are a little sparse between the beans and I was thinking that I have a half bag of oats left I could seed in. Question is it is a mix of Bob oats and turnips and I don't know if I can just broadcast it in or what I should do. Thoughts?

    Thanks.
    Ty

Throw it on pretty thick and see what happens. If you get some rain I think you'll be happy.

If the turnips are more a forage type than tuber type definitely not too late. Throw the oats on thick before a rain and they'll germ...small seed like brassicas have great success just spreading before a rain as well.

I don't believe it's too late. I planted turnips on the 28th of August last year and just planted oats, turnips, peas, and a variety this past weekend. We still had turnips the size of a girls softball last year.
