Ive been told I should get rid of my 4 blade Muzzy 90s' because I shoot 3 Blazers...Therefore I need 3 bladed broad heads? Thanks John
I shot the 4 blades back in the day and I couldn't get them to shoot as accurately as I would of liked so I went with a three blade and it cleared up the issue, but you don't absolutely have to change if you shoot accurately and your confident in your setup I would go with what you want.
Ok, thanks for the replies...Im gonna stick with what works then..I took a real nice 13" forkie last year..First deer with a bow, and thats what I had..3 vanes, 4 blades...My grouping has never been where I want it, but im happy with the way it shoots.. Im shooting a Bear Gameover, CX Munity arrows, and Muzzy 90's.
Have you done a spin test on your heads? Paper tune? Broadhead tune? I shoot a three fletch with a four blade Slick Trick, and have done so for the past 5 seasons. Every year I have shot them out to 80, spot on. You should see similar or identical results with your Muzzy's
That's bad advice. Glad you changed your mind about following it. I have been shooting 4 blade Muzzy for 25 years with 3 vanes. There is no difference with 3 or 4 or 2 blade heads when you are tuned properly. I can see zero difference between 3 and 4 blade Muzzy heads of the same weight.
My 4 blade Slick Tricks hit only 1/2" lower than my feildtips, side to side is perfect. I have 2" blazers (3)
Complete BS. If so explain why Muzzy mx-4's have had huge sales for years.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
It's more of a mental thing. Some guys say its more accurate to line the blades of the broadheads up with the vanes, but its all in their heads.
Ive been shooting slick trick magnums and grizz tricks and both fly like field points... With blazer quick fletch 0 problems for me
Definitely not true. Loads of hunters shoot Slick Tricks (4 blades) with 3 Blazers and they are arguably the best flying fixed broadhead to date. You don't have to have 4 fletch to shoot 4 blade BH's. 4 fletch may help stabilize, but it's not a necessity.
That's a good thread. I never thought about it before. I shoot a slick trick 4 blade head and 2" vanes. They hit real good. I couldn't get my Muzzy 3 blades to hit as well, so I just go with what shoots best out of my bow.
I just got slick trick magnum 100 grains and did not have to change anything out to 30 yards keeping accuracy very high. I am sold, I can't wait to hit a deer with them. T
I shoot three vane, 2 inch blazers and 100 gr 4 blade Muzzy heads and they shoot great. My buddy prefers the 3 blade 100 grain but the funny thing is, I can shoot his broadheads, my broadheads and our other buddy's 4 blade slick tricks and they all shoot very close to the same from both of my bows. My buddy with the 3 blade Muzzy's actually has two sights for his bow. One for field points and one for his broadheads. The reason... he refuses to tune his rest. A well tuned rest will shoot your field tips and broadheads the same regardless of the vanes on the arrow. Aligning the vanes and broadheads is a wive's tail too. :D
