I have all of these bucks on camera pretty much all summer long. Multiple photos of each buck. I'm hoping they stick around this area long enough for me to get a poke at one of them.

Great pics JZ. Were you able to find any pictures of Duke's monster from the other day?

Dude.. check out the Rob bucks left side.

Is he not the exact match of the 140 9 pointer I have both sides off last year.. and you found the one side behind your pa's work.

Its uncanny it is such a match! Crazy.

The buck I just took was anything but a monster Ferg.. a monster of a body.. but you'll be shocked when you hear his antler inches. (think about it.. he only has 7 tines.. and 1 of them is only about 1" long.) But it doesn't bother me.. a mature deer will get the axe everyday from myself whether he has 100" or 150" at 4 years.

Lots of bucks who spend there time in large swamps don't see great amounts of inches in the antler department. Unless of course they are closer to good nutrition food sources like a cornfield or a fair amount of Oak trees. But where this deer came from the nearest AG field is about 2 - 4 miles away. And Oak trees are VERY few and far between. Nutrition is a big part of antler growth.. and most swamp hunters will tell you.. ALOT of these deer just don't get that proper nutrition needed to grow those super-sized racks.

I have a whole mess of antlers to prove it too.

Many of the deer in our area of Illinois never see 145".. and thats by 4.. 5.. even 6 yrs. old.

JZ has the pics and I have the antlers. The genetics are rather poorer here.

But our deer are very large. Our ladies are enormous around us. 150 lbs. is common.. and 170 lbs. is real good.

Same deal with my area in Ontario Mike. We do get some great racks, but most mature deer top out around 130-140.

Well I meant it as monster body! Definetly a huge deer. I know the rack wasn't nearly proportional.
