Well these three being gone next week will slow down that high octane offense of tOSU. This is be on comical anymore, just sad. http://m.espn.go.com/ncf/story?storyId=7054653
They were paid $15 an hour. Hardly seems like something to make such a fuss over. Heck, I remember this college kid that worked at Microsoft in the summer and then continued during the school year while attending MIT. He was allowed to bill his hours and got $60 and hour or something like that. He had some very unique computer skills when it came to coding.
Posey likely did not know he was being overpaid. He received $1,050 for 21.5 hours of work. $48.83/hour for cleaning cars and picking up scrap metal." Signed me up for that job
I personally think some of the NCAA rules are too tough. Some of these student athletes come from poor families and between school and practice they don't have time for real jobs. Who cares if they get a few bucks. The schools are making millions off these kids.
Furthering my point, they are "talented" at football. I am not. I wouldnt expect to get paid $$$ to play it. When it comes to picking up scrap, its probably a wash, so i should be able to make the same amount as they do, based an ability.
Come on Gary, you don't think he's worth that as a car washer/scrap picker-upper??? Agreed. I'll probably be labelled a BUCKEYE HATER, but as far as I'm concerned, the two who already had a history of issues would be GONE!!! And as bad as it looks up there this year, they aren't going to do anything to make a MAJOR turnaround, therefore, they may as well be made examples of how NOT to be as a Buckeye Scholar-Athlete. Those guys are a bunch of Prima Donna's yet they aren't really anything that special. NONE of them will likely have any spectacular career in the NFL, therefore, they should have been busy studying for their next REAL PROFESSION rather than panhandling as pseudo-NFL'ers!!! And there stands Gene Smith blaming Tressel??? Wasn't he the guy who was "100% behind our coach (Tressel)" only a short 8 or so months ago??? Again, Tressel wasn't the ONLY ONE who should have been fired!!! If the issues are this rampant, then maybe they should altogether scrap the football program and make these young men figure out how to gain these opportunities on their own.... Then and only then will they appreciate the opportunities afforded them. I think the suspended players should have their scholarships resended, then maybe once they are actually paying for their education, maybe they can appreciate the scholarship they've been offered.
I don't see any hating going on. One mistake, we can forgive. Two mistakes, forgiveness pending what mistakes were made. Three mistakes, kick their asses out of C-bus. Gene Smith is a buffoon.
Ridiculousness of NCAA rules? Florida' Shariff Floyd held a bake sale with the help of his guidance counselor to raise money to get a flight to the Army All-American game. He turns himself in and still gets 2 games. On the other hand, AAU basketball players who are on shoe teams are showered with shoes, gear, jerseys, etc. and this is considered 100% legal.
