I'm about to be 24, still feel like I'm 18, except for my back of course.

I joined the marines to get my life together, not sure if it's working yet, but it's a start.

I own an ar-15 but honestly don't really see the great advantage with having one.

I don't want to work, ever. I just want to hunt and fish and cut firewood all day.

I can't drink as much beer as I say I can.

I don't think I could live in a world without Scarlett Johansen in it, damn she's hot.

I don't care for the taste of beer. When I drink it is for the buzz and having a good time.

I don't see the point of drinking alone.

I will start out on beer then switch to wine coolers or fuzzy navels once I get full on beer. Sometimes I enjoy starting out with wine coolers before switching to beer.

Don't see the fascination with coffee.

I will always say clip instead of magazine and could give a rat's *** what you think of it.

Sandals and flip flops are for girls/women.

While I don't think much of tom toms... if I was forced to choose between wearing them or sandals/flip flops... I would wear tom toms.

I like and wear a pair of cowboy boots for special occasions... yet detest cowboy hats.

I have never had any desire to do house work and avoid it like the plague. I don't mind cleaning the shop though where I work. I would rather pitch stalls then do house work.

I don't like bow hunting out of a tree without a harness and rarely every do it. I am climbing things at work much higher, slipperier and more dangerous... yet I almost never wear a safety harness.

If you pee in your shower... you aren't welcome in mine. If the wife finds out you peed in our shower... I will hold you down while she kicks you in the junk repeatedly and then I will pee on your head. We both find that disgusting.

    Tim

when I said I partied my life away I meant.
    - I smoked pot everyday, many many days it was an all day thing.
    - I drank way to much, way to often.
    - I used to do cocaine a good bit aswell.
    - I've had 2 DUI's which I'm very upset at myself about.
    - I spent 2 weeks in jail for my second DUI. But should've probably been longer considering the facts about it.
    - my second DUI I don't even remember happening. I had a BAC of .324 and am very fortunate that I didn't hurt or kill someone. I thank god almost daily that I didn't hurt anyone.

Like I said I've turned a new chapter in life and am on the right track now. :)

I'm sure I'll have more to come.

I had a male baby sitter that was a neighbor crawl in bed naked with me. Luckily nothing happened as I was old enough to understand something wasn't right. I didn't tell my parents but I told them I never want him babysitting me again. I was damn lucky and wonder if there were other kids that were not so lucky.

This has to be one of the best threads I've ever seen on this site and I have really enjoyed reading it. A big thanks to the original poster. The reason I have really enjoyed it is because I love seeing the stories of where people have been and how they have changed. I have also enjoyed some of the things you guys are willing to admit. The challenge in ministering to men is to get them to open up to each other and admit their fears, faults, and weaknesses. Why is this important? Because it shows others that they are not alone in their struggles and though one man's issues may be different than theirs, we ALL still face issues. This thread has provided, maybe unintentionally, a vehicle by which we can admit our struggles and past mistakes. This may give someone who is struggling with similar issues the courage to face up to their issues and realize that they can be overcomers as well. It also shows that in spite of our attempts to be macho and continually show all this male bravado, we are still creatures that are at times, vunerable, fearful, and unsure of ourselves. And yes, I know there were a lot of tongue-in-cheek remarks that were meant to entertain but I also think there was a good amount of genuine soul bearing that went on here. Again, great thread!

    Blessings.........Pastorjim

    - I met my wife through eHarmony.
    - I own as many pairs of shoes as my wife.
    - I was accepted and enrolled in the Upland Ecology Grad program at Clemson when I met my wife, but I never went because I didn't want to leave her. I still sometimes wonder how my life might be different if I had went though.
    - I am horrified of the first night alone with our child.
    - I own 7 bow ties, but rarely wear them.

Awhile back I started a quitting smoking thread. Did quit for just over 3 months but unfortunately started back again. I didn't post in that thread that I restarted smoking (when I did) and figured this is the perfect thread to say it. I do plan on quitting again very soon.

I was abused as a child by my stepmother
I blamed my father for the abuse for years
Deep down a part of me still does
I have forgiven them both and have a wonderful relationship with my Dad again and him with my children
I see my stepmother probably twice a week or so in passing, we don't speak
She truly hates me with a passion
She caused me to struggle deeply with organized religion
She professes to be a christian... behind closed doors she is anything but...
Even my wife has no idea how bad it really was
This is the first time I have spoke (written) about it in years
