I know my feelings and thoughts on this....but need some input. New neighbor put up no trespassing signs ....but funny thing is they're only near our stands (20-30yds) I see him cutting firewood when I was hanging stand, go introduce myself, and got verbal permission to get any deer that I might shoot and harvest them....but NO HUNTING ! Now he has trail cams pointed at our stands. Comes out and walks down fire trail, sees we're there on our side (small 2.5ac plot), decides to play boy scout or something with his kid, breaking sticks, jumping around, just doing dumb sh*t. I understand its his property to do as he pleases...but damn dude...I find it a real "D" move to come out and do the stuff he was doing, KNOWING we were there hunting. Gotta vent ....
I have a neighbor that I suspect is hunting over on our side of the fence every year. All that's on his side is pasture and they kill the crap out of deer every year. Last year he sent me a pic of a deer his boy shot, 2.5 year old 12 point. I recognized the scenery and it was on our side of the line. When I asked he said oh yeah he shot it on our side and it ran over there so we went and got it. Well, now...that would be okay but when he asked about that exact scenario four years ago...I said sure it's fine but since there are often hunters on the property, before you retrieve a deer...call me so you don't just walk into one of our hunters. I'm still waiting on that call... There are D-bags everywhere in this world. I may pull what your neighbor did of these aholes this year. They have two tripod stand exactly on the fence.
Mowing I could deal with....jumping on large sticks to break in half, beating on trees to break sticks, loud yells, is a little different story after you walk the trail, look me in the eyes from 30-40yds out, no doubt in my mind I was seen, and then this...."D" move IMO. This was just maybe a month after I get verbal permission from him to retrieve any that may run to his property AND yes....all 50 states have Hunter Harassment Laws....But I don't own the property, and am trying hard not to cause the owner problems.
He probably thinks of the deer as his pets and really doesn't want you to shoot them. He'll get tried of it and leave you alone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Let him keep it up. He'll run the deer off of his property onto yours. And remember to thank him for doing it when you kill a biggin Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
If you are hunting a 2.5 acre plot, then you are going to be close to neighbors on every side. I'm assuming the neighbor doesn't have a hundred acres he can play boy scout w/ his kids. Put shoe on other foot and if he was hunting 2.5 acres right next to your property and put a stand up close enough to see, you'd be putting up signs too.
