Just curious if anyone uses EM and what their thoughts/opinions were on them. I'm thinking about trying them out. It's tough to switch from my muzzy's lol

I'm using these. I shot a bambi about a week or so ago and I had no tracking to do... deer was down in about 16-18 yards. This is my first season using mechanicals in about 10 years. I'm loving them so far.

Shot my buck with one this year. I absolutely love them. Buck was down in 50 yards. Good shot, but it pounded him. I wish i would've taken a picture of the entrance and exit. I might have a picture where you can see the exit. My buck last year was shot with a Muzzy MX-4 and the Schwacker was noticeably better.

Every shot is different in some way, no matter how similar they may seem, so comparing the results of one shot to another can be rather arbitrary. Sharp and accurate is always going to put anything you shoot down as long as you get penetration into and hopefully through the vitals. I haven't shot Shwackers and I am sure they are fine heads. Your Muzzys are also fine heads. If you hit a heavy bone however, those Muzzys are tough to beat.

And several others. I tried expandables a couple years ago, hoping for better blood trails. I put 4 deer down in 4 sits. Not a single one gave me a better blood trail because I was failing to get pass throughs. I was shooting 3 blade, 2" expandables... sometimes less is more.

After losing a deer to a deflected shot ( arrow didn't hit deer square) I won't shoot a head without exposed blades anymore.

Another good reason. I feel if you can guarantee you won't hit major bone upon entrance or exit and can guarantee a no deflection shot (basically only pure broadside shots would work) mechanicals are great...however I've been there. 22 yards and my 2" high dollar expandables didn't get a pass through when I should have....crazy. Fixed for me now.

I guess the only true way to see which I like better is to use them where it matters. Everyone who I've met that uses muzzy's swears by em. but the swacker test videos are hard to beat.

Fixed blade is the only way to go! Why take a risk of a head not opening? Why take the massive loss of energy when that head hits the animal?

I can't understand why anyone would want a head to NOT be open on impact or even during impact. What if you don't get a passthrough? Simple answer is you don't have a blood trail on a marginal hit and you will not find the animal.

The notion is assinine to me but to each their own.

I'm not against mechanicals and have used them myself in the past but in my opinion, this head is just a bad idea, especially for setups yielding normal to below normal ke,speed and momentum. Even the manufactuer recommends a minimal of 60 ft/lb ke. In reality that would mean one will need more than that to get an exit hole on a bone hit for a blood trail.

In my opinion, don't even consider this head unless your pumping out close to 80 ft/lb ke.

tfox hit it. KE is key . I have the KE but will tell you that durability was my complaint on the mech heads I used. The only one I found to hold up was a BR2. But it didn't kill em any deader than my slick tricks

I am still scratching my head...I hit a nice buck with a swacker broadhead and heard the smack. HAD A DECENT BLOOD TRAIL and then found the arrow and only one side had opened?? The blood faded and after several hours of hard searching, no deer? I shoot a Z7 x at 60 lbs. It was a 30 yd shot, and I won't use them again until I've really tested em....if ever.

I'm curious how you can know only one side opened without the deer? I shoot Muzzy of course but was just wondering. Hearing a smack usually indicates a shoulder bone was hit in my experience. That's usally not a good sound for a mechanical shooter.
