I have not read the entire thread, but this I know for sure...

Lone Wolf Stands are top notch. Their customer service is at the top. I for one have their climber, an Assault, and a tree seat (that I use with my tree saddle). If I had the cash I would replace every non-Lone Wolf stand I have with a Lone Wolf.

    Oh and Justin I agree.

Just the thread I was looking for. I hunt public land and have to take my stand down every day. I am looking for something a little lighter and more versatile than my climber (API bowhunter). I just never wanted to drop the $$$'s on the Lone Wolf gear including the climbing steps. It looks like you need 4 sections to get to 20'. Anybody know about that? I am going to go with the Alpha after reading these posts.

4 steps should get you to right around that height if you space them out quite a bit. I usually get to about 17 to 18 feet or so with mine. As much as I hate spending money, they are worth the money if you are setting up and taking down on every sit.

Have any of you guys ever ordered the platform from lone wolf for the sit and climb? Mine was stolen a few years ago and I have been on the lone wolf web site but can not find how to order just the platform?

I've used a LW Assault with five climbing sticks for several years now.I have 5 other hang ons and ladders that I setup and leave for the season at several different WMA's in my area.I use my Lone Wolf for spots that I may only hunt 1or 2 times or if I find hot sign that needs to be hunted now.I can get up to 25' with 5 sticks and 2 screw in steps at the bottom. The set up is fairly light to carry and I can hang it and be hunting in just a few minutes.I love mine.

I have there climbers and lock ons. They are the best made in my opinion and I have owned a lot of stands. Well worth the extra money.

This. I get exactly 18ft, that's with the last step in between my seat and platform. I always thought the price was ridiculous until I actually got one. The thing I really liked was how quiet it is compared to other stands.

You can probably get 20ft out of four sticks. Depends on spacing and whether you set your stand above the last stick. For safety and ease of getting in and out I would say 16-18' is more realistic. Its really nice having the top of that last stick above the platform so you can step down into the stand instead of pulling yourself up into it. The tree can come into play as well. For 20 ft everytime I would get a 5th stick.
