Just recently sold my DSLR and looking to upgrade to a Canon. I'm trying to shop around for a better price and have a hard time finding a better deal than ebay. I do order some things from ebay but nothing this costly. Just wondering how you camera guys feel about purchasing from there. Have you ever? If not, where do you get all your camera gear?

I have never spent that much on ebay. I usually check adorama for that stuff. They seem to have some of the best prices I have found. Trevor once mentioned another place that has great prices too but I can't think of the name of it.

If the seller has a good rep then you should be fine. You can even open up cases on ebay in case something doesn't pan out

I spend alot of time and money on Ebay with work as long as it is not listed as parts or repair you are covered 100% by Ebay and Paypal no worries at all it is actually usually easier to make an Ebay return than most stores. Cant answer your camera question but stay away from the California sellers as they are prob China wholesellers

Yupp. I bought a Marcum ice fishing flasher off ebay. Got it and it wouldn't work. Bad battery or transducer. This was not mentioned when I bought it. After multiple failed attempts to get ahold of the seller I contacted Ebay Buyer Protection and they got me my money back.

When buying my T3i I looked on eBay a lot and couldn't find many (if any) deals better than those on B&H.

If your buying new, I would recommend buying from a certified dealer, just to be on the safe side. I've bought lots of stuff on ebay and have had and excellent success rate. There's really no better place for used stuff.

I bought my camers off ebay with no problem. If your not looking for a new cam I would say you could probably find a decent one on eBay.

Thanks guys. I'll probably continue to look around, like to get at least two lenses with the camera but we will see.

I have looked on Ebay in the past but I feel much more comfortable buying new or being able to see it before I buy it. Some stores sell used equipment and offer short term warrantees. You can also look on your local Craigslist and find used gear too. I have used craigslist to buy and sell several things locally and feel better seeing and testing the product in person before you buy.
