    Sent son a text so we'll see what he says...if not I will go down after storm...temps are inching up. I may take the 243, yes over kill especially at that distance but good practice with new scope set up.

    Our .243 is actually set up just for coyote hunting with the red light scope and all.

    Yep a problem...this was a merry chase he disappeared from sight and when call brought this back one last walk before storm
    Someone please tell me these hopping specs of"pepper" on top of snow arent ticks EVERYWHERE!

    Thanks I rarely hit that open field this early in the season, it's just too deep. I looked and nope not a one up the hill where I normally walk.

    Coyotes rarely den up this time of year.
    Most likely just getting a hole ready for pups.

    That's what I was thinking. Obviously they were feeding pups this past spring with the fawn I found at a rear entrance this spring. We are just at the start of the snow dump we are going to see. So I may take a sit late Friday or Saturday morning.

    Tape a sparkler to the end of an arrow, fill hole with acetylene gas, stand back, nock arrow, light sparkler, shoot at hole.

    Wear ear protection, it will be loud.
