I use cuddebacks. They are the only cams I've ever used. So I can't really compare.

I have 6 high end cuddes that are junk and are now used as dummies. I went with Reconyx 5 years ago and zero problems. It's 31 below in Wisconsin again tonight so it may depend on your location. You get what You pay for in optics, trailcams and women.:)

As I stated the Reconyx have been awesome for 5 years. The cuddebacks went back many times for refurb and they are now dummies for road hunters. So I have $2,400 in dummies and $3k in good reconyx. I have heard really good reports on Covert in Wisconsin weather.

They are the best cameras on the market when they're working... but that's only about 50% of the time. I have 2 Captures now and have had numerous problems with them over the years. You need to know the little tricks how to run them, but they take the best quality pictures out there.

I have used Moultire, Cuddeback and Covert Cameras. Covert and Cuddeback take the best pics of the 3 IMO. The best Cuddeback I have owned is the Capture 3.0. I still have that one. Like bigwisconsinbucks said, they are the best cameras out there when they work. But, the problem is that fail too much. I started using Covert cameras 2 years ago and that is all I use now. Quality, AMAZING Customer Service and Value for your dollar sets them apart!! Some may say my statements are biased, but who cares. I have posted Cuddeback pics in here this year too. Truth is, I have yet to have the issues I had with my Cuddeback cameras, with ANY of my Coverts. The battery life and picture quality in Covert cameras is Second to NONE! Cold temps are no issue here in NC, so that is not a factor. It is pretty much Hit or Miss when you buy a Cuddeback these days. There are SO MANY more trail cams on the market today that are equal to or better than Cuddeback. What good is 1/4 sec trigger speed when the camera doesn't work? I will take Overall Performance over 1/4 sec trigger speed anyday.

On the farm I hunt in Ohio we have Cuddeback, Bushnell, and a cheapo Tasco. They all work. The Cuddeback takes the nicest pics I think.

I've tried a lot of different cameras and I'd say cuddeback, or covert are the best bang for your buck.
Had a lot of issues with the capture ir once temps are below freezing. One thing I like most on the cudde
Is that very rarely do I ever have any half body or off center pics.

My first trail cam was a Deercam made by Non Typical, who I think makes Cuddeback. It took great pics, but it crapped out after 2 years. Since then I've been using only Cuddeback. I had a couple of Capture flash cams which took great pics, but they went through batteries like Grant went through Richmond! Then they had to be "re-programed". They also crapped out after first year of use. Not to be deterred, I bought the new Attack flash, which like every Cuddeback takes great pics, but the flash will burn the eyes out of your head!! lol I'm curious to see how it will work next season. Oh, Cuddeback takes great night pics too.

Like PSEREVENGEMAN said, Reconyx is the real deal! They take the VERY BEST pics of ANY cam out there, barr none!! The only thing that stops me from getting a couple of them is the cost. It's not that I can't afford them, because I can, it's just that I can't bring myself to risk leaving $400-$500 cams sitting on Public land! Reconyx is to trail cams, what Lone Wolf is to tree stands. lol

I have my Cuddeback Capture setup on my carcass pile...its taken about 250 pictures over the last 2 week.

I set the cheapest Covert up 2 days ago and checked it yesterday...430 pictures.

In that same 2 day frame my Cuddeback took 6...

Yes, the pictures are good quality, but the camera just does not compare to my Coverts.

Cuddebacks are known for there narrow sensing cone...the "center shot technology". The fast triggers guarantees that the image is centered...but you will miss a TON of animals that a Covert (with its super wide cone) would pick up. Simple facts. Anybody in the industry would tell you this.

I have a Cuddeback No Flash that I bought new about 6 years ago. It wasn't cheap, I think close to $400 when I bought it. It was in the repair shop more than it was in the woods. The pics were good quality, but you always wondered when it was working and when it wasn't. I finally retired the thing after getting a bunch of pics with blurry lines through them. It wasn't worth the headache. It now sits on the shelf, and my Covert MPE5 is my go to camera. I've had it since August and its been fantastic.

Most of the cameras out there "state" right on the box that they aren't good below -5. Where I'm @ we normally get much colder than that in the late season so I feel everyone's pain. I typically don't even attempt to use my cameras ( high end moultries) if it's much colder than that. Hopefully I have the deer patterned by then. If I absolutely need to put a cam out in extreme cold I have taken 12 hour handwarmers & duct taped them to the edges of the camera. Yes I know it's "redneck" & only lasts 12-15 hours but it has worked for me.

My cousin had a couple of the Cuddebacks over the years and had nothing but problems with them so I never bought one. You do see some nice pics on them though and your fox one is sweet!
