Getting warmed up for the coming turkey and black bear hunt in the next few weeks so I went to the club. Groupings were pretty tight and, I shot my first ''Robin Hood'' yesterday at 30 yards...
I thought I'd be happy when it would happen.

    Nope!

Just ruined two of my best arrows and will cost me $25 to replace.

Think I'll use different targets every shot from now on...

Funny how quickly that feeling of jubilation goes away when the $$$'s come into play.
Good luck on your hunts this year!

Know the feeling man. Bought a half dozen maxima reds on tuesday and on Friday I shot a Robin hood. I was so mad. But it happens. Good luck this season.

I never understood the fascination with robin hooded arrows unless someone is trying to flip the bird at mythbusters. If I have to spend money on arrows, I'd just as soon buy extra arrows to use than to replace ruined ones.

If I want a robin hooded set to display, I can always use two old crappy ones, a vise and a hammer and smash a fakey together, suspect lots of guys do that anyway, lol.

If somebody paid for your arrow of choice and bought you endless amounts upon request, would you shoot robin hoods all day?

They are fun the first time or two. After that it is just sad because you realize the expense LOL. I shot one a few weeks ago, I was setting up a new sight and playing with 3 different arrows. It was totally on accident. I usually shoot different spots but thought I was safe grouping to compare the arrows while I fine tuned the sight in. Nope.

Also...how many Robin Hoods are actually real...

A true Robin Hood has to start with the first arrow being in the EXACT center of the bull's-eye. Otherwise it's not a "Robin Hood", it's and "accident".

I disagree ^. I do not always aim for the center of the bulls-eye because I do not like wearing out the same spot on my target.

Had one with aluminum many years ago. Still have it but yeah, I don't like doing it or even coming close anymore. With my new bow, I bought some cheaper arrows for the first supply as I tune it in so I don't feel as bad about wrecking them. Already did one, the target turned a little so I hit the side of the first arrow and now it is splintered. I will buy better arrows for fine tuning and hunting.

It was a true robin hood... first arrow was bull's eye and second arrow was IN the first arrow....
