For those of you attending the G2G, I will have a couple of my whitetail shoulder mounts for display for your viewing pleasure. This will be my first year starting taxidermy as a side job but more importantly as a hobby that I have grown to enjoy. I started using alot of Dan Rinehart's techniques as well as shifting into more of Joe meder's techniques. If something invloves whitetail deer I'm their! I will have business cards for people to grab and if there are any specific questions just locate me, otherwise I know everyone is looking forward to the shoot, it will be another fun and exciting day as usuall. Can't wait to see everyone and for those who can't make it , we'll miss ya! Thanks ladies and gents, Ryan Culvey a.k.a. (Hoyt 'N' It)
I will be there and I also going to start Taxi work. I am going to go to Dan's Taxidermy School next year. I can not wait and then get busy!
Take plenty of pics of your mounts, someday I hope to come out and meet everyone, but its not gonna be this year. Have fun everyone.
Very cool Ryan! I won't be able to make the G2G this year, but would like to see some pics if you want to post them up.
Hoyt, is this a hobby that you are going to continue only for your mounts or are you looking to make some extra $$$ by doing mounts for other people too? I am very happy with the last mount I had completed and just picked up a couple of weeks ago (Ron's Taxidermy in Lake Zurich, IL), but am always looking to find another good taxi in case he is booked out too long. I can't wait to see your mounts in 9 days. Mike
Both hobby and part-time for some extra cash, since I have a full-time job I only want to focus on whitetails for now to get really good at them.
I know I said I'll have 2 heads at the shoot, the second one is still drying and may not be done in time by saturday, we'll see what happens by end of the week. I don't want to rush anything if I don't have too! For those who won't make it, I'll have some pics up in the near future in the forum and you can check out my Droptine Taxidermy album under my facebook page as well. Hope everyone has a safe venture to and from garden prairie this weekend!
