Starting to see more deer out at dusk now that the farmers are getting the hay cut. It's good to see some antlers coming along nice. Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend. Take care Dave
Real nice. In case you don't know it..... we ALL love your pictures and stories of your hawk. Really nice stuff.
Dave ... awesome as.usual! Keep them coming sent from my DROIDX 2 using Tapatalk with permission from Germ and to impress others.
Very nice! I notice a definite color contrast difference in Nikon and Canon shots whenever they're posted on the web (at least with out of the box settings). What is your Nikon setup? How do you like it in comparison to your Canon?
Thanks a lot guys, much appreciated. Matt - I don't have a Cannon, I only shoot a Nikon. All of my wildlife pics are with a D-300 and a Nikon 200-400mm f/4 VR lens. I use Photoshop CS4 for all my post processing. One thing I have noticed though is that if I edit them on my laptop, they have a different contrast look to them than if I edit them on my home PC even though I do the same steps. Weird... I think whether you shoot Cannon , or Nikon or whater, you still need to edit the photos to get them to pop. How much is contrast is added is totally up to the individual. I used to hate post processing, but now that I kinda know what I'm doing, I find it fun to see how much better you can make a picture look.
Ah, I must have you mixed up with a guy over on AT (I know he shoots Canon). I post-process a lot as well, but I'm in a period with my photography, where I'm truly trying to force myself to nail the shot in camera with as little post-processing as possible. I've been setting up custom exposure profiles in my camera (30D), and I'm learning a lot about getting my photos to truly pop the way I want to right from the camera.
