I was cutting the lawn today, and I came around the edge where I have a retaining wall right next to the driveway. On top of the retaining wall there is a concrete cap of sorts and of course critters get under the cap because a lot of the soil is washed away, and the ground moves here in Wisconsin in the winter.
Flash back to about a week ago where my son calls me at work and tells me he sees a stupid skunk walking on the north side of the house. He says it looks like it is hurt.
Guess what folks, I found that skunk today while I was cutting the grass.
About 6" of the head and neck was sticking out from under the concrete cap. It stunk too !! Deader than a doornail.
I figure it had crawled under there to protect itself, but then it just died !
Well, I got a long pair of channel locks, put some gloves on and got a couple of garbage bags, I had to pull hard to get him unstuck from the concrete.
Of course I think he has been dead for a number of days, so the maggots were in hog heaven already......I'm ready to lose breakfast, which was about 4 hours ago ... I finally got him double bagged and I figure I will take him to the city dump. No frickin way am I putting that bag in my Jeep. I throw him on top and hope that he wont fall off and bust open the bags on the way to the dump.
Made it there okay, dumped in in the bin and took off...now my jeep inside smells like skunk just from being in the vicinity of this damn critter.
this just made my day !

What a waste of good meat. Should have ground it up and made some breakfast sausage.

Yup.... your jeep would smell better if you stopped carrying around some of those wicked women you pick up in town. Don't blame the poor dead skunk. LOL

What smells worse than a skunk?

    Evidently a dead skunk.

I hope you didn't waste all of that cover scent!
