I really like the specs on this and will probably go shoot one, but while I've heard of them I'm totally unfamiliar with this bow manufacturer. Can anyone give me any info on the company?

    Martin Cougar FC Pro.

    Nitro Hybrid Pro Cam*
    Speed 335-345 FPS
    (70#, 30", 350 gr.)
    Let-Off 80% (adjustable)
    Draw Weight 50#, 60#, 70#
    Draw Length 25.5" to 30.5"
    Brace Height 7"
    Weight 3.6 lbs.
    Axle Length 32.25"

Not a bad looking bow either: http://www.martinarchery.com/2012/cougar.php

They are an older company. Actually the originator of the what I have heard called "bridged riser design" Many people think that they copied Hoyt. They didn't. Hoyt has in many peoples opinions perfected the design. I have no opinion on that one as I have yet to find a dealer around here that will carry them. Not 100% sure why either. I get answers from they don't sale good to, they are crap. Of course I have heard he same things said about both Hoyt and Mathews. Let me add, that is what the owners and employee's have said. Those are not in anyway my words or opinions. Now on the other hand, I have a friend who use to shoot 3D a lot and hunted some in the early/mid to late 90's. They were one of the top manufacturers and from what I know still are a reputable manufacturer. He swears by the bows and wouldn't shoot anything else. As a matter of fact, he wouldn't buy anything else for his son last year when he started shooting. I have seen him shoot it and looked at that one and was impressed. Especially for the money. I have held others a few times (The only place I found them was Di**'s and no one was there to let me in the range) and was contemplating the Onza 3. I couldn't find one to shoot locally. Thats all I know about them at this time.

There are a few people on here that shoot them and love them. It all boils down to if you shoot it and like it, you can't go wrong with them.

Sorry, but I don't see anything in the PSE lineup that gets me excited enough to make the drive to shoot one.

sticks is right, they were a huge part of the equation back in the day but for some reason kind of fell of the map. Never heard anything bad about them, but have never shot on before. IMO stick with a solid limb like martin and many other companies have, more solid design and less chance of something going wrong.

I had a martin before i bought my elite. They are an absolutely great bow, and i have zero complaints for the bow at the price point it was in. Never had to deal with the customer service but im sure it is great!

This could be total hogwash, but I had a pro shop owner tell me that Martin make most of their money from licensing patents to other manufacturers like Mathews, BowTech and Hoyt. I don't know how valid that really is, but they've been around for a real long time, I could see it.

I have a buddy who bought a Martin last year. May have been a Cheetah? I know he loved how it shot, but he had to send it in several times to have it worked on. If I remember right, it was almost like there was a burr somewhere in the cam causing the string to wear really bad in a particular spot. They did fix it for free however.
