One out my favorite times of the year, to be in the woods. Deer sign is still fresh, I don't feel the pressure of hunting. Have taken the dog for two long walks through the woods and field/creek edges, and moved cameras around over the weekend.

Agreed. I've checked my cams three times since the new year already. I'll be out this weekend again.

I would need my snow shoes to do that. I haven't checked my cameras in months.

I dont know, I like being in the woods when I can hunt pretty good to! But I don't feel any pressure when i'm hunting.
But I agree, I do like being in the woods this time of year. I can do all the romping around, stink all I want, make all the noise I want and it wont hurt a thing.
Nice looking dog, is that a lab? Do you hunt it?

I pulled most my stands and all my cameras Sunday. Will take the rest of the stands out this Saturday, and hopefully the next Saturday get out for my first dose of scouting/shed hunting.

I know my old hound is tired of being caged up all weekend. He has a blast running around harassing varmits while we're out.

I'm with Tom on this one. We've had snow cover since early December which has made any sort of real scouting pretty tough. I want to go pull some stands and cameras but with 12-24" snow drifts in areas I doubt I'll get out for at least another month. With no temps above freezing in the 10 day forecast it may even be longer than that.

Hopefully your batteries have lasted through this brutal cold!
