If that was a family member I would take the lad aside and explain why he needs to quit advertising his ignorance.
No he said it was the second buck he had shot and not recovered, based on the decision made in the video would guess the first was a bad hit as well.
And who cares if it wasn't ideal shot conditions put em down. Gotta have some ethics. Break out the boom stick and kill him. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I know it that poor deer is running around with an arrow in what looked like his spine, and by how he was acting he's not doing so hot. Its much better than getting picked apart by disease and possibly coyotes.
At least he was dedicated to hunting that deer for the rest of the season. Even though he was only sighted in at 10 yards.
starting to think that kid is a diehard gun hunter trying to be a bowhunter. I'm sure he kills that deer with his 300 mag any day of the week by just shooting it anywhere. his patience is the same as most gun hunters I know. if he was smart he would stop videoing or at least quit showing them unless he has a quality video to show.
This kid is a freaking mess. He almost treated as an "oh well" situation. I admittedly have done the same exact thing but luckily I've never lost a deer yet in my hunting career. The mistake is one thing, but it seemed as if he just kinda told us about it nonchalantly. A video like that is why some people don't take youth hunters seriously. I really do get the mistake. I've made worse mistakes even in my short bowhunting career thus far, but that video was just a little bit too extra for me. Best thing would be for him to learn from it. I know that my poor shot two years ago still sends chills down my spine. I think about it all the time, even though I did recover the deer. I just hated the feeling. I hope he can share that same feeling, and let it help impress on his every shot.
Another kid that thinks tv is his future..... sorry kid....it's not..... Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
