New that is fine, but they made their paradise. I watch Todd's video's because he is a MI guy and I happen to like the guy. I don't watch any other video's, so I cannot comment. If I want what Todd's has I simple have to take the chance he did, but I have other things in my life more important than deer. Grizz i have no dog in this fight with you or jeff anymore. The spade is a for a laugh at an ugle ordeal. I am glad Jeff is your friend, when I am in KY again I hope we hook up. If not so be it. BTW KY is the Number 2 state for B & C bucks Which is why I go down to hunt KY and I will keep doing so. Hunt with your son any way you want, just post a pic of his bucks or does so we can say congrats and welcome him into this loving hunting family we have here.
YOU ALL asked for it....whenever the tension rises to an 8 or above on any thread I am going to post up some Alyssa!
This map really has to be taken with a grain of salt. Each state has a varying number of bowhunters (MI has 3 times that of KY). The size of the counties also vary, which can also make it deceiving. For instance I know that both ND and SD are excellent states (top 5 or 6 in US according to some numbers I had seen this past year) when it comes to success rates of killing a P&Y. But you wouldn't know it if looking as this map. I also seem to remember MI being at the bottom of the Midwestern states at that same statistic. I wish I could find this list but wasn’t able to when searching.
What will be funny is when one Todd Graff's kid's whacks a monster, I wonder if one of his kids would get treated like this BTW I sure hope one of them does, and i hope Todd is in the tree with them, what an experience to share with us here!!!
I do too Germ, hell probably most of us do. I'm not sure what Todd has to do with this or wanting want someone else has for that matter but let me put it like this. Remember the buck Todd killed in Full Circle(if I remember right he filmed it himself)? I remember watching that and feeling super excited for him, I usually feel just about nothing emotionally watching a hunting video. That particular hunt, that buck, his excitement it was all glaringly real and you could see it and feel it. It was a dream hunt, a hard hunted "buck of a lifetime" for him and it showed. Now if I were to watch Todd or anyone for that matter shoot 3 or 4 of those bucks every season I doubt I would feel the same as I did watching that hunt. Now I wouldn't feel anything negative about those bucks or hunts I just feel like something is lost when we take an extraordinary event and make it commonplace. jmo take it for what it's worth.
I hear ya loud and clear, on the "Dream Hunt" thing, and I might agree, she may already in sorts be in a similar class to Tiffany (hunting-wise). I agree 100% with the BLUE!!!!!
So if someone with a lot of money goes out and shoots a deer, you will put a (*) next to it JUST because they have the money? Please elaborate on that.
Jeff, I agree that you tend to get the blunt of it most of the time and many times that's unfair to you. I was speaking in more general terms than specific. I tend to look at the entire picture before typing anything. It's unfortunate that this tread has blown up the way it has...it didn't need to and by doing so it's just another "black eye" for hunters. An outsider reading this will think we in this particular hunting circle are some of the most trite, short minded and self absorbed hunters around. This is why I don't like labels "bow hunter" "gun hunter" "deer hunter" "bird hunter" the list goes on and on. It only serves to separate and divide us and the worst part of it all........we do it to ourselves. I have no problem with folks speaking their mind and in many instances I prefer it however when it comes to hunting, we need (as a collective group) to be careful of what we say and how we say it. This is because we are a target for the anti's, a group that is growing stronger every day. By dividing ourselves it only makes it easier for them to push their agenda (end hunting all together). We need to choose our words wisely and sometimes keep our opinions to ourselves for the greater good of our sport.
