Too funny, maybe she will be able to pull a bow back when she is 14. If so I bet success will follow. Sounds like she gots "the bug" to me. Enjoyed the link Gary
Nice deer and very lucky 13 year old girl to have the opportunity to hunt in such a place. My bet is that as long as she wants to hunt she should be able to harvest a beautiful deer every year since they are being managed and there are obviously lots of mature deer there. The level of accomplishment is proportional to how high the bar is placed. In these parts a youth hunter would be lucky to kill a yearling spike and most don’t have the luxury of hunting out of a box blind over a food plot on private managed land in a state that grows record deer. To put it in perspective, harvesting a great deer like that would be a deer of a lifetime here not a yearly accomplishment. Making a statement that the girl would kill the largest deer around if she went to anyone else’s place is laughable. Come on …I don’t mind calling a spade a spade..
A big deer Jeff I have made refernece now to your first comment serveral time, it was uncalled for and childish remark. I used your same comment about you, and I have harm you in someway, yet you still don't get it. As soon as anybody questions the way you hunt; you pounce on them like a cat to tuna. Yet with not knowing any of the facts, you called into question a 13 year old kids deer she shot and so did others. Regardless if you knew this young lady or not, we as hunters should be respectiful and not ASSUME what we think happen. So far most who question it, including bry were wrong in their assumptions. What are we teaching kids about hunting today if grown men cannot give a simple congrats and move on, gezzish
That's an awesome deer regardless of how she took it. Congratulations to her! One thing to keep in mind is that we, as hunters, are a dieing breed. For a young lady to be so enthused in hunting really means something. It is up to us to get youngsters into the sport, and this is a great example of a dad (or family friend) taking a young lady who loves to hunt out and making her dreams come true. Whether she did all the work or not, remember that she is the one who looked through the scope and pulled the trigger, thus making a great shot and killing a great deer. That is my 2 cents, take it as you wish.
Geeze that is rough.... I can see why it doesn't belong due to the fact that it was taken with a gun, but over the year or so that I've been on the forum I'd like to think that I've developed some "friends" that would love to see my kill regardless of the method with which it was taken. I don't care if any of you guys post your gun kills, and I would love to see them if you do because I'd be happy for you regardless of method, so please post them anyways.
I agree. I frequent this forum by far more than any other and fill like I have at least a common bond with everybody else who frequents this site. I'm not nearly as excited for rifle season and wish we didn't have it but we do and I love to hunt, therefore, I will participate. I don't feel like a person should be "persecuted" for showing an animal they are proud of just because it was taken with a rifle.
We are forced to post gun kills in the water cooler forum, as not to encite riots by the arrow flingers.
I guess putting down a kid you don't know is fair game, I guess belittling is OK for you. You are a waste of bandwidth Don't send me one of your whining PM's either, LOL
Two pages will do you the "untouchable " one once again out shines the stars. The higher up the flag pole he goes the more of what an azz he is we see.
Yeah...lol I see that this thread spawned a few other posts as well..Funny thing happened, the title didn't interest me, so I didn't open it ..once it got to double digit pages I had to see what the fuss was about. Shoulda known...lol
