I find some of the responses pretty humorous. If a member on here hunts on a friend's property or maybe another member of this forum, has a stand all ready to sit in for him/her, and they shoot a great buck like this...everyone would be full of congrats. Not coming up with reasons to minimize the kill.

Her second buck last year is a pretty good story. Her Dad couldn't get work off and the weather was miserable. Many adult men took the day off from hunting. Her Dad told her shouldn't could not go out in weather like that. When her mother asked what he said on the phone, the girl said "He said I could go as long as you go with me." Since she spends countless hours helping around the property and setting up blinds/stands, she picked where they would sit according the wind. She also picked the route they would take to the blind, and then killed a 150"+ 9pt. From what I hear, her Dad wasn't too upset.

The girl has attened many seminars with her Dad and the pros/expects are always impressed with her knowledge of deer behavior, habitat, food, etc. I would NEVER find a reason to minimize a legal kill of a 13 year old...never. Guess thats just me. I have no insecurity issues.

"Somebody has a rich mommy and daddy."
"Anybody can do it if they can afford it."
"The success a "child"/"kid" has off there parents management/setups should be attributed "mostly" to the parents (in cases like this)."

To me, statements like this are unnecessary and try to minimize what this girl accomplished. If anyone had the chance to read the article about this family and their property in Quality Whitetails last year, they would realize this a family affair and they ALL put a lot of effort into it...instead of making assumptions. They see a little girl behind a big buck and assume all she does is show up and pull the trigger. And even if that was the case, who cares! She's 13! Some people are more fortunate than others and always will be.

Amen. I mean who in their right mind could "actually face" this girl and say some of these things. Talk about a kick in the nuts to the future of hunting. Geesh.

Couldn't of said it any better myself. If I would of had those 3 bucks on my wall at age 13 I would be showing it off to the world to see. And yes at age 13 my old man was putting me in stands that were going to produce.

Awesome. I would be in heaven!! (And so would at least one lucky person each year!)

I never said she didn't do any work. However, I DID say that it takes "...hard work, time and some restraint..." (Which you left out.)

I guess instead of saying "Good for her for getting those bucks and being lucky enough to have the parents she has..." I guess I should have said... Awesome! That is incredible that such a young girl is such a great hunter!! Getting three big bucks already is AMAZING!!! She is going to have a great hunting carear.

Then I should have left out anything about being lucky. Which is a common factor in the harvest of a big buck for many people each year.

That is information that I think some of us did not have.

Like I said. She is lucky to have the parents she does. (I'm not trying to "diminish" her by saying she is lucky.)

Shooting those bucks is GREAT for her!!

I gotta chime in .....no you don't ....yes, yes I do ......

It's funny to watch grown men throw excuses out there as to why SHE was able to take 3 deer like that .... a little girl dropping three awesome bucks can sure put the hurtin on some guys pride ;)

Some of you guys are REALLY transparent ....anyway, congrats to that little girl ... she EARNED it :)

With your propensity for flip-flopping, I can only assume that yes, you would do just that. :D I kid, I kid.

I understand that sometimes when people "hunt", they are basically just pulling the trigger. This isn't one of those cases...that's all I'm saying.

Well not exactly. Their 350 acres is part of a larger coop of QDM/Quality Whitetail properties. I think it's great for the little girl, I really do but at the same time I still keep things in perspective. Insert any average hunter into that scenario and similiar results will happen. Do I think less of her accomplishments? No, I just don't know of any ground similiar to that so it's hard to relate. They have some great land and obviously plenty of resources to turn it into a hunting paradise, good for them. Realistic for most? Not likely.

    Here's some perspective:

" they saw non-stop action from 7 am till 8:45 when Larkyn shot this big 9-point at 45 yards with her muzzle loader (80 grains this time). We're sure he's at least a 3 1/2 year, and can't wait to see the jaw. They saw a total of about 10 bucks and 12 does."

Sit for less than 2 hours see 22 deer, almost half of which are bucks. There are good hunters on this site that won't see that many deer all season(maybe they should go to a seminar).

    And also:

"Scentite is an elevated hunting shack that is sealed with a tall stack so that the air moves into the bottom of the stand and exits the stack up high to distribute the scent. They have a double wide one so there is room to sleep."

For the record there is a difference between spending the night "on stand" and sleeping in a double wide hunting shack.

If someone were to post a pic or pics of some hunter hunting whitetail paradise with massive bucks every season the same comments would be made just like the ones most of us make about TV hunters. Everyone is getting their panties in a wad because it is a kid, a kid who probably couldn't care less about what we are posting on the internet. Killing bucks like that I wouldn't care either.

Who are YOU to point out something that diminishes another's accomplishment???
Why do you feel the need to? Did you not read the quote above? This little girl didn't just sit in a stand while dad pointed a gun to where the kill zone was and she pulled the trigger?

My 13 year old shot a 133" 9 pt. Saturday evening on his first ever deer hunt. He used a muzzleloader and dropped the deer in its tracks at 50 yards. He picked the spot, and made a great shot. Now, if you tell him he's not much of a deer hunter you better lose the high-water pants. Talk about an ankle biter!

It's good to see young people getting involved in hunting. It's good to see a family working together. I'm proud to see a father allow his daughter to hunt deer he would most likely love to shoot himself. Congrats to her and her family! I wonder if they would adopt me?
