We've had a pretty good year this year partly because of the work we did with trail cams. I enjoy setting and checking the cameras before and during the season but when it pays off like this all the time and effort is well worth it. Every deer that we've been lucky enough to take this year we have pictures of from earlier in the season.

That's a really nice buck! Congrats on getting him, but I don't see him in your pics. Just some smaller ones.

Cameras are a great tool for us hunters, no doubt. Congrats.

Believe it or not that is the buck in the background. When I shot him I was confident we had never seen him before but after looking at the pictures closer and zooming in on the rack there is no doubt it is him. You are right he looks much smaller in the pictures but i think it is because only the thickest parts of the antlers reflected the flash enough to pick them up. It has me looking at a number of other photos and wondering how big those bucks really are.

I think I enjoy checking my cameras just as much as I love climbing in the stand! Nice buck.

You guys might be right but I've looked at these a lot. Here are a couple of blown up and brightness adjusted images of the trail cam pics and then a couple of the buck itself from each side. See what you think.

On the last two pics it looks like there is more mass between the G-4 and G-5. The main beam is overall thicker, but again this could be angle of the picture and such.

I don't think that is the same buck either. The buck you killed has an upswing at the tip of the left main beam. That same main beam on the buck in the trail cam pic shows a much straighter main beam. JMHO Great buck either way.

The buck you killed isn't the one in the photo.

You guys are probably right, thanks for the input. I was focused on the G3 on his right side, the shape and angle of the tine is pretty distinctive and matched very well between the pics. If you guys are right that's good news for me, he is one more good deer out there for me to chase.

Definitely not the same deer in the trail camera pic, but congrats on your buck either way!
