These grouse pics are from the second homebrew I built (Sony s40 w/SSII in a Plano box 3.5"X6")
the ducks are a comparison of my Covert Edge(best pics of any commercial I've had) and my first build(Nikon L11 w/yeti) and 4th build(Fuji J10 w/bigfoot)

Nothing like the pic quality from a homebrew. Great pics, thanks for posting.

    Blessings.......Pastorjim

Nice pictures! I agree on the homebrew front (although there are some higher end commercial cams that offer some features that might be attractive to me). I just purchased some Monster Raxx, and need to update my sites, and get my newly built S40/Fast Hack out. I have a drumming log I may put the cam on for a week or so (your pictures got me motivated to get it out there asap).

I am definitely addicted to these cameras...the only commercial cams I might now consider are a small blackflash - more for security purposes than anything. I am talking about something like the dlc covert mp6 in size but hard to get good battery life with blackflash and that small. These cameras I have can sit out for 2 months and better without a problem(except memory)...the s40 w/ss2 is compact like my wgi micro 6 cams - the others are the basically the same as my spypoint IR-5s and I will be starting on some IR builds this coming week(5 of them lined up - though only sony p52s and 3mp)
Heres a couple pics of the builds

Great pics, you might even put a small desiccant bag in the case for moisture control. How is the battery life?
