This weather is putting a lot of construction behind schedule.

I feel your pain, I've got a 86 yard pour ready for 7 a.m. tomorrow morning with pump truck and concrete on will call. Your pour looks just a wee bit smaller. :p

Thought I was the only one dumb enough on this site to do this crap for a living.

I have been working construction while going to school for 6 years now. I love it, but it's definitely not the easiest thing in the world to do  but making $20/hr during college ain't so bad of a deal!

I did the same thing in college. Only problem was when I finished school I was making more money in construction than what I could make with a teaching degree so I stayed with it. Something's wrong with that picture.

Ha ha yea I'd say you got jus a little more to pour then we got, might have ya with the walls and floors combined. Has a lot of step downs from 8 to 4 foot wall on basement. All I got to tell ya is good luck tomorrow, this time of year always seems to be a gamble.

And no it at least seems like there's two of us that couldn't find something better to do for a living ha.

We've got the basement daylighted, my concern is a cave in with the 8' tall over dig. We have a lot of steps too, we're jumping from a 10 foot tall basement wall up too a 10 foot wall in the garage and 8 foot tall porch. The garage grade will be the same elevation as the subfloor in the finish. The walls are so tall because the lot has over 100 foot of elevation change.

Holy crap, yea I'd say there's a little change in grade there. We did one like that last year tho, it was a walk out with a pourch on back and about the only four foot forms used were at front of garage. The back wall and back pourch walls were all 9 foot. I wouldn't of wanted the bill for fill on that one seeing as guy didn't want to use dirt so it was all lime pretty much. That's one plus on this one for us, not much worry about cave ins seein as the bank is only 6-6.5 feet at deepest.

Definitely not easy, but I'm like u I love it. To me being outside and seeing what you've done after the job is best part. Plus working for a friend went to hs with makes it easy to take time to hunt ha.

We build a lot of homes in thick clay so that sight is all too familiar, unfortunately .
