It was the youth weekend for turkey in ky and my son was insistent that I get up and take him this morning. Not an easy task considering I was already short on sleep from having to get up early Saturday and take him to catch the team bus to drive 2 1/2 hours to play a baseball game. We drove up to watch and didn't get home until late. Well, I did and we got there at just the right time to do a little calling and locate some birds. We double stepped it to a spot and got setup and nothing. They quit talking and we saw nothing after about 15 minutes. I told him to grab the decoys and we will move closer to where we heard them. He started out to the decoys and a bird let out with a loud gobble and actually startled him. I called him back but again, nothing seemed to be happening so I told him to stay and I would start moving away while calling. That seemed to do the trick because after moving about 50 yards, I sit down and called about 5 more minutes before I heard him shoot. Perfect head shot at 30 yards. He was filling out his tag at 6:50 this morning.:D He really looks excited lol sent from my samsung note 2
