Well I have seen a ton of deer so far this year....

I have had an up and down year. The up side is I have been seeing more deer than ever, bucks more than does. I have tons of monsters on my trail camera...

This year I missed a monster at 40 yards, shooting under his stomach, which was the pic of this guy below, and missed another nice 8 straight down from me. Now I know missing deer is apart of deer hunting, but I feel degraded.

I have gotten this buck on trail camera all fall...[IMG]

This is the guy I missed at 40...

Now to make things worse, this guy I know that hunts a neiboring woods, just took this deer last night, probably less than a mile from where I hunt...

it almost makes me sick because he looks like the deer I missed. I sure hope its not, but good for him I guess..

Just upset and wanted to vent, because I have had my oppertunities this year and havnt sealed the deal....

Is anyone else having the same issues this year??

The only thing to do now is keep hunting and keep at it

Just keep at it man. I hope it all comes together for ya. Also, the deer in the last picture, looks like the guy is holding a rack on that deer. Unless there is some weird stuff around his bases. Looks like he is holding the rack there with his thumb. Did you see that deer in person??

Hang in there man, at least it sounds like you have been seeing multiple shooters.

Slayer - I really don't think that's the same deer. No split G2s on the trailcam buck. Could be related though. Hang in there and keep at it - you're know you're doing something right to at least have opportunities to miss!

Something doesn't look right with that pic... Skinny neck and a long skinny face... It appears that he is holding antlers on a deers head the way he is holding the ears and antlers.

The is also no Ohio temporary or permanent tag on that buck. That is a violation of game laws. You cannot move your deer before putting your temporary deer tag on it.

It does look weird, is there a skull plate between the antlers? Looks like they may not be sheds either. Definitely looks strange

Agree. That is a slick head, someone is messing with you. Definitely looks like a rack/skullplate being held on top.

I agree... something majorly wrong with that pic. And Rob, keep your head up buddy... I've been hunting my arse off, in Licking County no less... and have not had a single shot opportunity on anything worthy yet!! This season has me baffled. It's like they're unaware that it's rut time, here! lol

    Definitely a "fake.":D

As for me, I can certainly relate. I'm having your exact same season. Saw 8 different bucks during the first three weeks, four of which were shooters. Flesh wounded the first 8, and missed a nice piebald 8 a week and a half later. Simply not a good season for me. Tonight is my last sit of the 6 week early season...most likely I'll be eating my tag.

I noticed that to look like a big doe with a Huge rack held over her head.
