    Bending at the waist while aiming is crucial!! there is no substitution for practicing from an elevated position. i usually shoot from the corner of my deck elevated to my multiple 3d targets around the yard, but being in a tree in the stand in the woods is different. it's the closest thing to the real thing! i honestly don't know how i went into the woods hunting without practicing like this before.
    I highly suggest everyone practices like this if able to do so. it really builds up your confidence level.

    reminds me I have to get out and practice with my new lone wolf.i was in your shoes last season except I had to pack in a 13 ft ladder stand and gear.

    Left the stand up overnight so I could get a few practice shots in today.

    I practice from a deck about 10 feet up but I stand on a stool to force me to keep my feet together as if I am in a stand. It also takes using my legs to steady me during the draw out of the picture for the most part.
