This is by far the worst season I have ever had...

Man I have been beating the bush hard and have zero to show for it.

Will somebody be kind enough to post some pictures of some monsters they have taken this season.

I am in serious need of some motivation here. Both my son and I have been unable to close the deal.

We have only seen small deer and refuse to take them just to fill a tag

    Thanx

It can sure get frustrating at times. I haven't seen a buck worth shooting all season, but I still put my time in. I'll be happy to take another doe at this point. Yesterday was the last day of regular firearms, so we can't hunt again until the day after Christmas to Jan 25th. I did actually see 2 real nice doe yesterday evening, but they came from the thicket well out of range. What county are you hunting in Ohio?

Check out my album. I got the buck from 11/28/13 on the last morning of a 12 day hunt. It felt great! Don't give up!

Early in....that's why they call it hunting, and not just killing. You seen some deer, got to enjoy the woods, and by not filling your tag yet, you get to do it again..sounds like a great season so far.

This little window until Christmas gives the deer time to get back to some sense of normality on the Public land I hunt. Come late season, I almost always have the woods to myself which is a real confidence booster. It's the hard cores that you see late season, and there are few of them. :tu:

Posting from my phone. Not sure why they're showing upside down.

It only takes 30 seconds for a crap season to turn Into one of the most memorable.

Nothing to do but keep rolling the dice. Might be time for a stand location change? Do something crazy

I was having a really tough season this year as well. I saw quite a few deer, but nothing I wanted to shoot and often not close enough to shoot. Then, one morning I was in the right spot at the right time and had deer on top of me all morning long. I rattled in at least a dozen bucks that day and took a decent one. It just takes that one sit to turn things around.

I evaluate a season by how many encounters I had and how well a plan comes together. Sometimes that ends with a deer or two and sometimes it doesn't. A season starts and ends being good and it can turn out great if I harvest something. I would never call a season bad unless I wound a deer and don't recover.

Well said. It may be discouraging sometimes but a harvest doesn't exactly determine how successful my season was.

Just think of all the deer still alive for next season. Got to think of the positive some how.

I also agree with this. It's what keeps me going out in single digit temps, along with the fact that it will be 9 1/2 months before I can go again, once the season is over.

I have let quite a few deer walk this year because I've been trying to take a mature deer. Now that it's later in the season and I wasn't able to harvest a mature deer I'm not seeing any deer at all. It's very frustrating. The early muzzleloader season didn't help either.

Well thanx for all the responses, maybe I worded this wrong a bit, however rough this season may be in reference
to the unforgiving weather that's been pounding us and the lack of deer activity where we hunt. It is still nice to get out there
    and give it a go.

Just a very strange hunting season for myself and even all the guys I work with atm...
