The awesome 4th of July weather we had seems like an eternity ago! This week we have been pushing 100-105 for the heat index each day. Early morning is the only bearable time to be outside. Just walking out to the vehicle will put you in a pouring sweat. I want to get out and scout around, shoot my bow, put out cams, etc., but I just can't motivate myself to do anything. I realize that I'm getting a bit soft... But when the heck is fall gonna get here? This weather is killing me!
This heat has been killer this weekend, but I still consider it a good year since the heat didn't make me miserable until mid July. I'm usually hating life outdoors by early June.
Luckily, I have a late season tag and won't start scouting until mid August. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
On one hand the heat sucks, but I'm so pumped about finally having access to a place that holds big deer that I'll deal with the heat. Headed out early tomorrow to hang four more stands (my last ones), check cameras, and setup a bunch of mock scrapes. Pretty sure I'll sweat to death and will get eaten alive by bugs but I can't wait to get out there tomorrow.
And if you try and wait until later on in the evening when it "cools down" you have to deal with the skeeters..
Yes, it has been hot that's for sure. I hung a stand today, bush hogged some and of course checked cameras. I was soaked. But....soaked in the summer, means it's closer!
